Typically, when you submit to a link directory, you usually are provided with 3 choices.
Featured links where the listing is kept towards the top of the list. It is through featured links that these directories make their money.  The second and third choices are regular links and Regular links with reciprocal. There are paid and free options for the second and third choices of link directories. Because link directories are so many, and you are advised to submit to as many as you can, why not look for free directories, more particularly the regular links option instead of the reciprocal link option. This is because regular links are one way links, which are more valued than reciprocal links.
